Through state, private and Ohio Wesleyan sources, you may also be eligible for a Merit Grant--awarded regardless of financial need--to entering students with superior academic records and intellectual promise.
Presidential Scholarships
These are the foremost among our four-year merit awards. They are given to students entering the freshman class and are valued at full tuition ($31,500/year in 07-08) at the time of enrollment but do not increase in subsequent years. Selection (with the exception of foreign students) is based on a student's application, additional essay and an optional campus visit that includes an interview. Renewal requires a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the end of the sophomore year.*
Trustee Scholarships
These awards are given to entering freshmen and are at least three-quarters of tuition at the time of enrollment. The value is calculated at the time a student in the Class of 2011 is awarded this scholarship and will stay constant during a student's time of attendance. Renewal requires a 3.5 GPA at the end of the sophomore year.*
*Should a scholarship recipient fail to maintain the required GPA for their merit award, an $8,000 Dean’s Award will be given in its place. All scholarship recipients are required to be in good academic standing at all times. Students who are on probation may have their scholarship removed.
Faculty Scholarships
These awards are at least half tuition at the time of enrollment and will be calculated at the time a student in the Class of 2011 is awarded this scholarship. This award will stay constant for four years and a student must maintain a GPA of 3.35 at the end of the sophomore year.*
